Fluid bicycle trainers work just like a wind bicycle trainer, only your pedaling controls a fan that is submersed inside a liquid.  This provides a much more difficult workout, and the degree of resistance is determined by how hard you pedal your stationary bike.  The only problem again is that most fluid bike trainers don’t feature a steady resistance level, so you only get the most out of your workout if you can keep pedaling at a high level.  But for a stronger bike rider, no other type will provide more resistance.  In fact, there are even fluid bicycle trainers that feature magnetic resistance also, to really provide a muscle intensive workout.
